Sydney Brewer has been honored with the prestigious Member of the Year Award, recognizing her exceptional dedication and commitment to the GKCAHA club. Since joining the club meetings in 2022, Sydney quickly rose to the position of vice president and eventually became president in 2024. She has played a pivotal role in organizing events, horse shows, and introducing innovative ideas to attract more members to the club. Additionally, Sydney serves as the youth coordinator, where she initiated an annual hippology competition at the Mokan Border Bonanza and established a youth scholarship that allows a first-time rider to participate for free at the Longview show. Her unwavering efforts and humble dedication make her a truly deserving recipient of this award.
This year's Golden Pitchfork Award goes to Austin Brewer, husband of GKCAHA president Sydney Brewer. The award celebrates individuals who do not show or ride horses but contribute significantly to the club through volunteerism and event participation. Austin's dedication is evident in his many hours of service, including setting up and managing the Hippology competition at the MoKan Border Bonanza, driving the water truck and drag at the Longview show, and helping with the setup for the Midwinter Celebration.
